The faculty of Biomedical Engineering at Sahand University of Technology, is the second nationwide independent faculty of biomedical engineering. In less than ten years, the faculty has demonstrated an excellent job in training expert graduate and undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate levels, as well as significant contributions to the healthcare industry. Currently bioelectrics and biomechanics are main majors covered in the faculty in three levels of bachelor’s, master’s and PhD. The faculty's research facilities have expanded to include five specialized areas: 1) Signal and Image Processing Laboratory, 2) Brain Mapping Laboratory, 3) Biomedical Fluids Laboratory, 4) Musculoskeletal Biomechanics Laboratory, and 5) Biological Tissue Mechanics Laboratory.
