Exploration Field
Introduction to Petroleum Engineering, Oil Exploration Orientation:
Iran is considered one of the world's largest oil and gas resources and mines. Therefore, training specialized and efficient human resources for the proper and optimal exploitation of this capital is very necessary. For this purpose, the undergraduate program in petroleum engineering has been established in the country's universities.
The petroleum engineering course, by applying new science and technology in the design and implementation of fossil resource exploitation operations, plays its due role in oil and gas production and economic development of the country.
The basis of the petroleum engineering courses is based on fluid mechanics, gas dynamics, fluid thermodynamics, mass transfer, and engineering economics, and its goal is to train efficient engineers who can design and implement optimal methods for exploiting oil and gas resources.
Oil Exploration Orientation:
The first step in exploiting or harvesting oil is discovering oil fields, which is done by seismic surveying. Petroleum exploration engineers send sound waves deep into the earth and then measure and process the returned waves to determine the presence or absence of oil within the earth. This field of study is closely related to geology.
