Drilling Field
Introduction to Drilling
This course is one of the petroleum engineering trends and one of the higher technical-engineering courses, which aims to train specialists who have the ability and skills necessary to design and carry out oil and gas reservoir extraction activities, and also have sufficient ability to solve problems encountered in these fields. This course includes fluid mechanics, fluid and reservoir rock properties, reservoir engineering, and drilling engineering.
Role and capabilities of graduates of this field:
Application of technical information in drilling and extraction operations
Technical-economic evaluation of drilling methods and selection and presentation of appropriate drilling and extraction methods
Technical and economic comparison of different drilling operations and methods and presentation of a way to empower technology in the country's oil industry
Protection and preservation of drilling equipment and prevention of waste of materials and facilities
Evaluation of the effects of drilling and extraction technology on the environment and presentation of solutions to prevent its destructive effects
Graduates of this course can work in the field of studies and engineering operations of drilling oil and gas wells in the country and play a significant role in increasing the efficiency of drilling operations, preparing an optimal operational plan in this field, and also resolving the problems and shortcomings of this industry.
This university has delivered capable graduates to the oil industry up to the master's degree level in this field.
